"In the Highlands, you can take the day as it comes. Because here, you’re right in the middle of things, with all of Spanish Peaks at your fingertips. This is the ideal base camp. A place where you can hike or bike or ski to an endless list of outdoor adventures, this is the best that Montana has to offer!"
The Highlands is a new south facing neighborhood in the Spanish Peaks Mountain Club surrounded by old-growth pines and set atop a ridge overlooking the Clubhouse. A new neighborhood ski trail and future Flatiron Lift make skiing effortless and easily accessible. Homes in The Highlands are inspired by a classic alpine design re-imagined with clean, modern lines and open interior spaces. Walking distance to skiing, golf, hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, alpine downhill skiing, and the numerous amenities offered at the Clubhouse such as dining, bar, pool, hot tubs, and health club. The Highlands is a place unto itself, and at the heart of it all is the Clubhouse. A place where people from all over converge to share in the grand adventure of Spanish Peaks and Big Sky. This is the place to meet for lunch, join a foursome, swim some laps, enjoy a workout, get the kids involved in Kids Camp, or rendezvous for skiing, snowshoeing, mountain biking or a nice long soak in the hot tub. Spanish Peaks is where kids grow up skiing, hiking, and biking ... together. Lifelong friendships take root. And families become family.
Skiing big is really about the hairs on the back of your neck rising as you drop into the Big Couloir. How Big Sky’s powder makes you feel as if you’re flying through a cumulus cloud. The snow so light and airy you can clear it off your deck with a broom. The mountain is so big it welcomes skiers of every skill level – with terrain ranging from broad, picturesque groomers to the heart-stopping steeps of Vuarnet Cliffs. And when you live in Spanish Peaks, ski valets will make any unfun parts — like toting your gear — absolutely effortless.
Before Tom Weiskopf began designing the golf course at Spanish Peaks, he explored the whole area on horseback. And like a sculptor looking at a piece of raw marble, he found a landscape destined to become a mountain golf masterpiece. It’s as playable as it is picturesque. Experts will encounter plenty of deeply gratifying challenges, and yet beginners and intermediates will just have a lot of fun. Here, it can be hard to keep your eye on your ball as you find yourself looking out to the surrounding mountain ranges. It feels as if it’s just you and the golf course.
